When the Seasons Change but God Never Does
Lately, the weather has been changing so much-warm one day, cold the next, storms rolling in, ...but the SON is still shining through. Stay with me...
While the forecast may feel up in the air and skies seem to shift without warning, we can rest in the unchanging truth that God is still in control of it all! The seasons of this world may come and go, but the Son of God remains constant in every storm we face.
Just like the weather, our lives move through different seasons. There are seasons of great joy while some are seasons of sorrow. Seasons of growth, but then seasons of waiting. One day you may feel like your life is secure and steady, but other times, the storms come. But, here is hope we can hold onto, or "something that'll stick to your bones." While seasons change, God never does. Never!
The same God who was faithful yesterday is faithful today! He isn't wishy-washy. HE is constant.
His love doesn't fall or rise with our circumstances, his promises are not shaken by the winds of uncertainty. Whether the sun is shining or a tornado is coming through, he remains dependent.
Change is a part of life, even nature reminds us of that. Winter will give way to spring, and the storms will eventually pass. Cold days are followed with warmth. New growth is quietly taking place.
The Good News? He is the shelter in the storm. He is our warmth in the cold. He is the peace in our uncertainty.
So the next time the weather shifts or life feels unpredictable, be reminded of this truth.
Seasons will change. Situations and feelings will change. But, God never will.
That is the hope we can stand on. It doesn't matter what the forecast may say,
Hebrews 13:8 (King James Version) "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever." With love, Loretta Jent
